Well, where to start... This is probably
one of the most amazing airsoft GBB's you will ever come across.
The realism and "wow" factor are incredible.
To begin, this gun was purchased
from Airsoft Atlanta, and I have personally owned and used the gun for
about 3-4 months now. It served as a sidearm ( 4 kills ) at OSC:II and is
my sidearm at every local game I attend. This being said, lets get to it.
Realism
Having shot a real SV Infinity, I
can honestly say I have some experience with this gun. This one is
extremely detailed, and though there are some things I have noticed that
are different on the real gun, this one does not suffer at all in the
realism category. The trigger is removable and replaceable with the real SVI triggers, as is the hammer, and possibly the slide.. I will get back
to you guys on that one though. The front sight is interchangeable with
the real steel as is the mag release, mag well, slide release, and I have
heard that the grip safety and thumb safety lever are as well. On the
chromed part of the slide (reverse side of center photo) where the shells
eject, you can see clearly " Infinity .45 ACP" and the
inscription on both sides of the slide clearly read INFINITY.
Usablilty
Ok, let me start by telling you
my qualifications for reviewing this. I have personally shot and used
probably one of every brand of M9 that is made, a KWC Desert Eagle, GBB
Browning, Infinity 5", P99, Omega 93R, and the list goes on. After
using these, I cry when I think about losing this guy.
The Infinity is most likely one
of the most solid GBB's I've ever held. The slide action is smooth,
controlled, and has a great charging sound to it. Plastic is limited on
this gun to some mag components, the grips, and the outer barrel assembly.
(Not the orange)
DO NOT forget to pull down the
small tab on the back on the slide before filling the mag. If you do not
do this, the gas goes in the bottom and out the top.
How does it Shoot ?
This gun shoots very reliably,
and very hard considering the gas it uses. There is however one small
problem with the gun in this respect. When you pop off more than 2-4 shots
in a row, they start to curve up. I'm guessing this is due to the fact
that the gun is getting cold and shooting " hot " effectively
increasing the hop up. I could be way off, I don't know, but it is a
problem. If you keep your shots controlled, the gun is very
accurate.
The gun takes about 5 seconds to
fully fill with 134 gas. The gun gets about 3 clips of BB's per fill if
you don't go crazy on the trigger. I have found .25's work the best in the
gun, but a few friends use .2's without a problem.
Durability Issues
A few things to note that get on
my nerves... If you carry the gun in a holster and it gets vibrated or
tossed around, the silver tube under the outer barrel unscrews itself and
moves out of the front of the gun, you must constantly screw it in. You
could Loctite it, but it will be difficult to get the inner barrel
assembly out later. Also, the front sight is easy to move, and I actually
lost mine at OSC:II. The Allen keys that hold the valve to the mag, and
the rear sight to the slide also like to work themselves loose. I have
tried to torque them on, and I even tried a bit of Loctite. The Loctite
works, but again, you limit your disassembly options.
Always double check the Allen key
that holds the valve together in the back, if it moves away at all, it
will hinder the clip from entering\exiting the magwell.
IMO Results
Overall, this gun is a beautiful
weapon, a reliable sidearm, and, if taken care of, it will last you a long
time, and keep you happy. If you are looking for a sweet sidearm that will
get you kills AND looks, this is the way to go. If you can afford the
hefty price tag, this gun is for you.
